The Cottage
       
1 Ольга, я не забываю,   Olga, I (do) not forget
  что скоро (2) лето;   that (it will be) soon summer;
       
2 уже так жарко.   (it is) so hot already.
       
3 Да, пора думать,   Yes it-is-time to think
  что наша (З) дача нас ждёт.   that our cottage is awaiting (awaits) us.
     

AK: "that our cottage us waits"
       
4 Город теперь смерть для нас,   The town now (is) death to us,
  и мы (3) забываем,   and we forget
       
5 как деревня хороша  

how good
[How (the) country (is) good...]
      AK: this means: how the village is good
  и красива (4).   and lovely (the) country is
     

AK: красива - beautiful as a state
- in the state of beautifulness, so to speak
       
6 Я так рада (4), когда думаю,   I (am) so glad when (I) think
     

AK: рада - /I woman is glad/
  что скоро буду (5) там.   that soon (I) shall be there.
       
7 Деревня спокойная,   (The) country (is) peaceful,
     

AK: this means "the village is calm"
  воздух чистый (6)   (the) air (is) pure.

  где можно гулять.   where (one) can walk.

AK: use погулять - to walk around instead, it's more natural
       
9 Помните Ольга,   Remember, Olga,
  что я всё лето буду у вас.   that I shall be at your house all (the) summer
[I all summer shall be].
     

AK: This sentence sounds like a threat.

  у нас место есть.   we have room [with us room there is].
     

AK: this means "we have place" or "we have some room"
       
11 Мы забываем; мы гуляем;   we forget; we walk (take a walk);
 

мы делаем; мы думаем.

   we do; we think.

AK: какая красивая - how beautiful (she is)

On account of the sultry heat of Russia,
the дача (a small house in the country for the summer) is a national institution.

Скоро means quickly or soon.

Before a feminine noun (ending in а), наш, our, becomes наша.
To-day we become acquainted with мы, we (subject) and нас, us (object),
and see for the first time the first person, plural, of the present indicative of verbs :
мы начинаем, we begin.

наша means "our feminine object'
наша деревня - our village (fem.)

Feminine, ending in я or а (see Note 2, lesson 21).

beautiful - красивая (fem.)

Я буду, or simply буду: I shall be.

буду (I will be) already contains a mark of first person singular (the ending -у)

Two instances of the agreement of adjectives :
спокойная, feminine, and чистый, masculine.

спокойная - (she is) calm
чистый - (he is) clear/pure

Деревня means either countryside or village.

 
  Место is either a place (post) or place (room).

место means a place, a spot
it can also mean "some room", but usually not a room in a house or a hotel
