Chinese Short Story 心锁 Lock of The Heart [Elementary Level]
心锁 41
当罗致远和林琳赶到老宅的时候，
安亚正要出来找人帮忙。		 When Luo Zhiyuan and Lin Lin arrived at the old house,
Anya was just running out for help.
dāng luózhì yuăn hé lín lín găndào lăo zhái de shíhou，
ān yà zhèngyào chūlái zhăo rén bāngmáng。		  
小吉反锁了厨房的门，她既进不去，
也听不到小吉的声音。		 Xiaoji locked the kitchen door from inside. She couldn’t get in.
She couldn’t hear any sound from Xiaoji either.
xiăo jí fănsuŏ le chúfáng de mén， tā jì jìn bù qù，
yě tīngbudào xiăo jí de shēngyīn。		  
她慌了，急忙出来找人帮忙。
结果正碰上罗，林二人在门口停车。		 She was scared and ran out for help.
At the same time, Luo Zhiyuan and Lin Lin parked their car outside.
tā huāng le， jímáng chūlái zhăo rén bāngmáng。
jiéguŏ zhèng pèngshàng luó， lín èr rén zài ménkŏu tíngchē。		  
“叔叔，小吉把自己锁在厨房了！＂
安亚向刚迈出车子的罗致远求救。		 “Sir, Xiaoji locked herself in the kitchen!”
Anya resorted to Luo Zhiyuan,
who had just stepped out of car in time, for help.
“ shūshu， xiăo jí bă zìjĭ suŏ zài chúfáng le！＂
ān yà xiàng gāng màichū chēzi de luózhì yuăn qiújiù。		  
说罢，三人进入宅院，
罗致远直奔厨房，用钥匙开了门。		 Immediately, the three of them rushed into the courtyard.
Luo Zhiyuan moved straight ahead to kitchen and opened the door with keys.
shuō bà， sān rén jìnrù zháiyuàn，
luózhì yuăn zhíbèn chúfáng， yòng yàoshi kāi le mén。		  
进门后，
他一眼看到盖地窖的木板已经撬开，
便毫不犹豫地打开地窖门，
钻了下去。		 Upon his entrance,
he spotted the removed wood cover for the cellar right away.
Giving no second thought, he opened the cellar door
and went down.
jìnmén hòu，
tā yīyăn kàn dào gài dìjiào de mùbăn yĭjīng qiàokāi，
biàn háobùyóuyù de dăkāi dìjiào mén，
zuān le xiàqù。		  
小吉一个人躺在地上，象睡着了。
旁边的烛台早已熄灭。		 Xiaoji was lying on the ground alone, as if she was sleeping.
The candle holder was right beside her. Light was burnt out.
xiăo jí yīgèrén tăng zài dìshang， xiàng shuìzháo le。
pángbiān de zhútái zăoyĭ xīmiè。		  
罗致远大喊了一声＂小吉！＂，
迅速把她抱了上来。		 Luo Zhiyuan gave out a cry to Xiaoji
and then quickly carried her up.
luózhì yuăn dàhăn le yīshēng＂ xiăo jí！＂，
xùnsù bă tā bào le shànglái。

小吉脸色苍白，林医生忙给她施救。
安亚则在一旁急得哭。		 Xiaoji looked pale. Dr. Lin tried her best to recover her.
Anya was weeping aside helplessly.
xiăo jí liănsè cāngbái， lín yīshēng máng gěi tā shī jiù。
ān yà zé zài yīpáng jí dé kū。		  
“小吉，你醒醒！＂林医生初步检查后，
发现小吉没有大问题，只是有些缺氧。		 “Xiaoji, please wake up!” After a quick check,
Dr. Lin found that Xiaoji was fine other than needing more oxygen.
“ xiăo jí， nĭ xĭng xĭng！＂ lín yīshēng chūbù jiănchá hòu，
fāxiàn xiăo jí méiyŏu dà wèntí， zhĭshì yŏuxiē quēyăng。		  
女孩缓缓睁开眼，看看林医生，
又看看爸爸，再看看安亚。
刚从昏睡中醒来的她，
不知自己身在何方。		 The girl gradually opened her eyes. She looked at Dr. Lin,
then her Dad, then Anya.
She wasn’t sure where she was after waking up
from a temporary coma.
nǚhái huănhuăn zhēngkāi yăn， kànkan lín yīshēng，
yòu kànkan bàba， zài kànkan ān yà。
gāng cóng hūnshuì zhōng xĭnglái de tā，
bùzhī zìjĭ shēn zài héfāng。		  
稍许，她回过神来。 A short moment passed, she regained her senses.
shāoxŭ， tā huí guò shén lái。  
“爸爸, 我什么都记起来了…＂
她哑着嗓子对罗致远说。眼泪汪汪。		 “Dad, I remember everything now …”
She said to Luo Zhiyuan tearfully in a coarse voice.
“ bàba, wŏ shénme dōu jì qilai le…＂
tā yă zhe săngzi duì luó zhì yuăn shuō。 yănlèi wāngwāng。		  
“你记得什么了？＂ “What do you mean?”
“ nĭ jìde shénme le？＂  
“记得是谁把妈妈锁在里面。
是我，不是你，不是别人。都是因为我！
因为我想和妈妈玩游戏，
后来又找不到钥匙了。		 “I remember who locked Mom in.
It was me, not you, not anybody else. It was all my fault!
Because I wanted to play game with her,
and then I couldn’t find the key.
“ jìde shì shéi bă māma suŏ zài lĭ miàn。
shì wŏ， bùshì nĭ， bùshì biéren。 dōu shì yīn wéi wŏ！
yīn wéi wŏ xiăng hé māma wán yóuxì，
hòulái yòu zhăobudào yàoshi le。 		 
你不该对我好，我害了妈妈，
害了你，害了我们全家。”
说着，小吉大哭起来。		 You shouldn’t have treated me well, I caused death to Mom,
I destroyed your life, I brought misery to the whole family.”
She said and burst into tears.
nĭ bùgāi duì wŏ hăo， wŏ hài le māma，
hài le nĭ， hài le wŏmen quánjiā。”
shuō zhe， xiăo jí dàkū qilai。

罗致远搂住女儿，
多年来的心酸一涌而上，
＂小吉，你那时还小，
怎么能怪你呢？＂		 Luo Zhiyuan hold his daughter in his arms,
with bitter sweet feelings filling his chest,
“Xiaoji, you were so little back then,
how could we ever blame it on you?”
luózhì yuăn lŏuzhù nǚ’ér，
duōniánlái de xīnsuān yī yŏng ér shàng，
＂ xiăo jí， nĭ nàshí hái xiăo，
zěnme néng guài nĭ ne？＂		  
“小吉，只要你好好生活，
妈妈在天上一定会开心的！＂
林琳边说，边轻抚小吉的长发。		 “Xiaoji, as long as you live well,
your Mom is sure to be happy in heaven.”
Lin Lin said and stroke Xiaoji’s hair.
“ xiăo jí， zhĭyào nĭ hăohăo shēnghuó，
māma zài tiānshàng yīdìng huì kāixīn de！＂
lín lín biān shuō， biān qīngfŭ xiăo jí de chángfà。		  
“小吉，你别这样，
我会内疚一辈子的。＂
安亚在一边眼睛红红地说。		 “Xiaoji, please don’t say so.
Otherwise I’ll be guilty for the rest of my life.”
Anya said with wet eyes.
“ xiăo jí， nĭ bié zhèyàng，
wŏ huì nèijiù yībèizi de。＂
ān yà zài yībiān yănjing hóng hóng de shuō。		  
从那天开始，小吉觉得世界在改变。 Since that day, Xiaoji started to feel that the world was changing.
cóng nàtiān kāishĭ， xiăo jí juéde shìjiè zài găibiàn。  
爸爸还和往常一样，勤奋地工作，
尽心尽力地照顾这个家。		 Her Daddy was still the same, working
and taking care of the family as diligently as he could.
suīrán， bàba hé wăngcháng yīyàng， qínfèn de gōngzuò，
jìnxīnjìnlì de zhàogu zhège jiā。		  
改变的其实是她自己。 The one who was changing was actually herself.
găibiàn de qíshí shì tā zìjĭ。  
她会在爸爸下班回家时，
为她泡一杯热茶。		 She would make a cup of hot tea for her Dad
when he came back from work.
tā huì zài bàba xiàbān huíjiā shí，
wéi tā pào yī bēi rèchá。		  
她会主动打扫房间，洗晒衣物。 She would volunteer to clean up the house and do laundry.
tā huì zhŭdòng dăsăo fángjiān， xĭ shài yīwù。  
她会悄悄为爸爸缝上掉落的钮扣。 She would quietly sew a loose button for him.
tā huì qiāoqiāo wéi bàba féng shàng diàoluò de niŭkòu。  
她会在爸爸感冒时为他煮一碗姜汤。 She would stew ginger soup for him when he caught a cold.
tā huì zài bàba gănmào shí wéi tā zhŭ yī wăn jiāng tāng。
