 她的故事 Her Story [4]  
听说她有了一个孩子，
但和婆婆处得很不好。		 They said that she had a child.
Her mother-in-law was not getting along well with her.
tīngshuō tā yǒule yī gè háizi，
dàn hé pópo chǔ de hěn bùhǎo。 		 
残疾的丈夫脾气变得越来越暴躁.
他们之间的交流也变得越来越少。		 Her disabled husband had became more and more testy due to depression.
The communications between them was getting less and less.
cánjí de zhàngfu píqi biànde yuèláiyuè bàozào.
tāmen zhījiān de jiāoliú yě biànde yuèláiyuè shǎo。		  
每天天还没亮她就要起床重复种地，
养猪，挑水，拾柴这一尘不变的生活。		 She had to start her routine of field work,
feeding pigs, carrying water and picking up wood when it was still dark in the morning.
měitiān tiān hái méi liàng tā jiùyào qǐchuáng chóngfù zhòngdì，
yǎng zhū， tiāo shuǐ， shí chái zhè yī chén bùbiàn de shēnghuó。 		 
在艰苦的生活环境中
常年照顾孩子,
残疾丈夫和年迈公婆的她身体不堪重负，
落下了很多毛病。

In that tough living environment,
whole year, taking care of child,
disabled husband, and aging in-laws, had taken tolls on her health.

zài jiānkǔ de shēnghuó huánjìng zhōng
chángnián zhàogu háizi,
cánjí zhàngfu hé niánmài gōngpó de tā shēntǐ bùkān zhòngfù，
luòxià le hěn duō máobìng。 		 
时常，在寂寞的大山里，
孤独的她会面对故乡的方向狂喊着
爸爸，妈妈，我想你们，
可是回答她的只有绵长的回声。		 Quite often, in the lonely mountain,
the poor lonely girl would cry out loud:
”Mom — Dad — I miss you!”
However, the only thing that answered her was the long echoes.
shícháng， zài jìmò de dàshān lǐ，
gūdú de tā huì miànduì gùxiāng de fāngxiàng kuáng hǎn zhe
bàba， māma， wǒ xiǎng nǐmen，
kěshì huídá tā de zhǐyǒu miáncháng de huíshēng。		  
   

经过很多次失败的尝试后，
她终于设法与远方的养父母取得了联系，
请求她们原谅女儿当年的固执。

 After many failed tries,
she finally managed to get in touch with her parents
and asked them to forgive her stubbornness many years ago.
jīngguò hěn duōcì shībài de chángshì hòu，
tā zhōngyú shèfǎ yǔ yuǎnfāng de yǎng fùmǔ qǔ déle liánxì，
qǐngqiú tāmen yuánliàng nǚ’ér dāngnián de gùzhí。		  
   
养母流着泪给她写了回信，
告诉她养父已经在车祸中过世，
自己疾病缠身，
无法到不通车的山区去看她。		 Her Mom wrote back in tears
and told her daughter that her father had died in a car accident.
She herself was not in good health condition,
couldn’t make it to the mountain area to visit her daughter. 
yǎngmǔ liú zhe lèi gěi tā xiě le huíxìn，
gàosu tā yǎngfù yǐjīng zài chēhuò zhōng guòshì，
zìjǐ jíbìng chán shēn，
wúfǎ dào bù tōng chē de shānqū qù kàn tā。  		 
他们早已原谅了她，
只希望她能过得开心。		 They already forgave her
and only wished the best for her.
tāmen zǎoyǐ yuánliàng le tā，
zhǐ xīwàng tā néng guòdé kāixīn。		  
这封信又足足走了三个月才送到她的手里。
看到信里熟悉的笔记，她痛哭失声。		 The letter took another three months to finally reached her.
Looking at the familiar handwriting from her Mom, she suddenly burst into tears.
zhè fēng xìn yòu zúzú zǒu le sān gè yuè cái sòng dào tā de shǒulǐ。
kàn dào xìn lǐ shúxī de bǐjì， tā tòngkū shī shēng。

终于她不顾婆婆的反对,
一路风尘仆仆赶回了故乡.

Finally, despite her mother-in-law’s objection,
she went all the way back to her hometown.

zhōngyú tā bùgù pópo de fǎnduì,
yīlù fēngchénpúpú gǎn huí le gùxiāng. 		风尘仆仆 tired by a long road
见到养母的时候双膝下跪,
和养母抱头痛哭.		 When she and her Mom reunited, she knelt down to her Mom,
the two of them hugged and cried together.
jiàndào yǎngmǔ de shíhou shuāngxī xiàguì,
hé yǎngmǔ bào tóu tòngkū. 		 
婆婆没让她带上孩子一起走,
因为她说,
嫁到大山里的女人很多都偷偷跑掉了.		 Her mother-in-law didn’t let her to take her child with her.
She said that
lots of women that married to the mountain people would run away sooner or later.
pópo méi ràng tā dài shàng háizi yīqǐ zǒu,
yīnwèi tā shuō,
jià dào dàshān lǐ de nǚren hěn duō dōu tōutōu pǎodiào le. 		 
婆婆没指望她还会回去.
做在旧得噶噶响的轮椅上的丈夫没说一句话,
只是失神得看着她离去.		 She didn’t think she’d come back either.
Her husband was just sitting in the old wheel chair,
saw her leave in a sad look without a word.

pópo méi zhǐwàng tā hái huì huíqu.
zuò zài jiù de gágá xiǎng de lúnyǐ shàngde zhàngfu méi shuō yījùhuà,
zhǐshì shīshén de kàn zhe tā líqù.

  
和养母在一起的日子过得很快,
快到她已经开始想念她留在深山里的那个家.

The time she spent with her Mom passed by fast.
Fast enough to let her realize that she had began to miss her own family,
the family that she left behind in the deep mountains,

hé yǎngmǔ zàiyīqǐ de rìzi guò dehěn kuài,
kuài dào tā yǐjīng kāishǐ xiǎngniàn tā liú zài shēnshān lǐ denàge jiā. 		 
那个让她付出了青春和血泪的家. the family that she had put her youth and heart into.
nàge ràng tā fùchū le qīngchūn hé xuèlèi de jiā.  
那个等待她去搀扶的没腿的丈夫,
等待她去哺育的年幼的儿子,
等待她去帮忙挑水的年老的公婆. 		The legless husband that was waiting for her to give a hand,
the young child that was waiting for her to feed,
the elderly in-law’s that were waiting for her to help carrying water.
 nàge děngdài tā qù chānfú de méi tuǐ de zhàngfu,
děngdài tā qù bǔyù de niányòu de érzi,
děngdài tā qù bāngmáng tiāo shuǐ de niánlǎo de gōngpó. 		 
日子在那个家里过得很难很难,
可是那是她无法割舍的人生.		 Living in that family is tough, but that is her life.
rìzi zài nàge jiālǐ guò dehěn nán hěn nán,
kěshì nàshi tā wúfǎ gēshě de rénshēng.

她最终选择了回去，
回到大山里那些需要她的亲人身边。		 In the end she decided to go back, back to the family that needed her so much.
tā zuìzhōng xuǎnzé le huíqu，
huídào dàshān lǐ nàxiē xūyào tā de qīnrén shēnbiān。 		 
养母送了她很远，把她看了又看，
好像要把失而复得的女儿
牢牢的看在眼里，
再也不愿失去。		 Her Mom went a long way out with her, she couldn’t keep her eyes off her daughter,
as if that’s the only way she could keep her previously lost daughter by her side,
never to lose again.
yǎngmǔ sòng le tā hěn yuǎn， bǎ tā kàn le yòu kàn，
hǎoxiàng yào bǎ shī’érfùdé de nǚ’ér
láoláo de kàn zài yǎn lǐ，
zàiyě bùyuàn shīqù。		  
临别时，女儿对养母说
”妈，女儿还会来看你的，
下次一定带着你的小外孙来。”		 At the moment that they departed, she told her Mom:
”Mom, I promise I will come back to see you again.
I will bring your grandson with me next time.”
línbié shí， nǚ’ér duì yǎngmǔ shuō
” mā， nǚ’ér hái huì láikàn nǐ de，
xiàcì yīdìng dài zhe nǐ de xiǎo wàisūn lái。” 		 
养母含着泪点了点头，目送着女儿远去。 Her Mom nodded, then she slowly disappeared in her Mom’s teary eyes.
yǎngmǔ hán zhe lèi diǎn le diǎntóu， mùsòng zhe nǚ’ér yuǎn qù。  
她的故事到这里就讲完了. That’s the end of her story.
tā de gùshi dào zhèlǐ jiù jiǎng wán le.  
青春的热血可以书写历史，
也可以酿制一杯苦酒。		 The blood of youth, it could write the history,
or brewed bitter wine.
qīngchūn de rèxuè kěyǐ shūxiě lìshǐ，
yě kěyǐ niàngzhì yī bēi kǔ jiǔ。 		 
让我们一起祝福善良的她
和她的家人们永远幸福，平安!		 Let’s bless the warm-hearted girl
and her family to have a happy and peaceful life forever.
ràng wǒmen yīqǐ zhùfú shànliáng de tā
hé tā de jiā rénmen yǒngyuǎn xìngfú， píng’ān!
