~ので - ~ no de

  You can use ので to give the reason for the situation described in the sentence.
 

 ので - no de acts much in the same way as から - kara but it sounds slightly more formal.

   
いつも にほんご で はなす  ので、
にほんご が じょうず に なりました。
My Japanese has improved because I always speak Japanese.
itsumo nihongo de hanasu no-de,
nihongo-ga joozu-ni narimashita.
 

 

 
宿題が たくさん あった ので、
きのう の 夜、寝ませんでした。 
I did not sleep last night, because I had a lot of homework. 
shukudai-ga takusan atta no-de,
kinoo no yoru, nemasen-deshita.
 
   
  The reason part of the sentence ends in a short form predicate.
  When ので follows a noun or a なadjective, な comes in between. 
その 人は いじわる な ので、
きらいです。
I don't like that person, because he's mean.
sono hito-wa ijiwaru-na no-de,
kirai desu.
 
きょう は にちようび な ので、
ぎんこう は やすみ です。
Banks are closed, because today is a Sunday.

kyoo wa nichiyoobi-na no-de,
ginkoo wa yasumi desu.
