Another half year passed, the project was almost finished. But the labor contractor disappeared with the other half payment he promised to pay. |

Without telling her, he worked two more jobs and only slept for four hours a day. |

“Cookies were received. They taste as yummy as always. I miss you as much as always!” |

When he was close to his target income, he started to count the days left while thinking about the reunion with her. |

Maybe he was too tired, or too excited, he suddenly passed out at work one day. |

他们来到她的住处， 久别重逢，有说不完的话。 |
They came to where she lived. After the long separation, they’ve got lots of things to talk about. |

＂能再为我做一次点心吗？＂ 他搂着她问， 象一个馋嘴的孩子。 |
“Could you make cookies for me again please?” He asked her while holding her close to himself, as if he was a little hungry boy. |

tā lǒu zhe tā wèn， xiàng yī gè chánzuǐ de háizi。 |

|
＂只要你陪着我， 做一辈子都行。＂ 她答。 |
“As long as you’re by my side, I can keep making them for you for my whole life time.” She answered. |

他幸福地笑了。 然后一低头，摸出一个精美的首饰盒。 |
He gave her a bright smiled. Then he looked down and fished out a delicate jewelry box. |

She opened the jewelry box, expecting it to be a ring, but seeing a stunningly elegant diamond necklace. |

| ＂喜欢吗？＂他问。 | “Do you like it?” He asked. |

“Yes I do. This is so beautiful and precious. I had thought…” She almost asked, but wasn’t sure how to phrase it. |

|
那天晚上，她带着他送的项链， 为他做了一份他最爱吃的点心。 |
That night, she made him his favorite cookies while wearing the beautiful necklace he gave her. |

He was not feeling well in his stomach. He didn’t eat much, but looked at her with his aching soul. |

Later that night, she cuddled in his arms and fell asleep. |

She figured that it must have been accidentally left by him. |

| 没来得及看他们最后一眼。 | you didn’t even have the time to see them for the last time. |

| 你永远地离开了， | You forever left, |
| nǐ yǒngyuǎn de líkāi le， | |
| 留下我们，你的往事，和我们对你的爱。＂ | leaving us, your memories, and the love we cherished for you.” |
