In the perfect tense (passé composé) with avoir

as the auxiliary, there is no agreement with the

direct object when it follows the verb. However,

if the direct object comes before the verb, the

past participle agrees with the direct object in

gender and number.

Example:

Les étrangers que j'ai rencontrés hier...

- Vous ne pourriez pas fermer la fenêtre ?

- Nous l'avons ouverte а cause de la fumée !

Глаголы, спрягающиеся со вспомогательным

глаголом avoir, в прошедшем завершенном

времени не согласуются с прямым дополне-

нием, если оно стоит после глагола. Если

прямое дополнение стоит перед глаголом,

то причастие прошедшего времени согласу-

ется с ним в роде и числе.

- Vous ne pourriez pas fermer la fenêtre ?

- Nous l'avons ouverte а cause de la fumée !
