A-  The negative adverb modifies a word other than a verb

The main negative adverb in this case is non

(not, non-), which can modify an adverb, an

adjective or even a noun:

Example:  J'y suis arrivй non sans peine !

                   Elle йtait non loin de lа.

                   Cela arrive en cas de non-paiement.

Most of the time, however, non is used on its

own.

Note. When the negation concerns a noun,

there is a hyphen between non and the noun.

A - Отрицательное наречие, относящееся

Отрицательное наречие non может отно-

ситься к наречию, прилагательному или

существительному.

B-  The negative adverb modifies a verb

The main adverb of negation in this case is ne.

It is sometimes used on its own with the verb,

but is more commonly accompanied by an

auxiliary with which it forms a compound

negative adverb:

· when ne is accompanied by the adverb pas,

it forms a complete negation (i.e. the fact is

completely denied):

Example:  Je n'aime pas ces films de toute

                   faзon.

                   Ne vous inquiйtez pas !

B - Отрицательное наречие, относящееся

      к глаголу

Основным отрицательным наречием, относя-

щимся к глаголу, является ne. Иногда оно упо-

требляется самостоятельно, но чаще образует

наречный оборот отрицания со вспомога-

тельным словом.

· если ne употребляется с наречием pas,

речь идет о полном отрицании факта.

Примеры: Je n'aime pas ces films de toute faзon.

                  Ne vous inquiйtez pas !

· when ne is accompanied by que, they form a

restrictive negative:

Example:  Je n'en ai qu'une vague idйe.

· for other types of negation, ne can be

accompanied by:

- indefinite adjectives or pronouns

'aucun, nul, personne, rien'

(no / no more, no, nobody, nothing):

Example:          

Elles n'ont rien coыtй !

Vous n'avez aucune excuse !

· если ne употребляется с que, то образуется

 ограничительно-отрицательный оборот.

Пример: Je n'en ai qu'une vague idйe.

· в других типах отрицания ne может сопро-

вождаться:

- детерминативами или неопределенными ме-

стоимениями (никакой, ни один, никто, ничто).

Примеры:

Elles n'ont rien coыtй !

Vous n'avez aucune excuse !

- adverbs 'guиre, jamais, plus, nulle part'

                 (hardly, never, any more, nowhere):

Example:          

Vous n'allez jamais dans des boоtes de nuit ?

Je pensais qu'il n'y avait plus de place !

Because of the frequency of their use with ne,

some of these adjectives, pronouns and adverbs

may have a negative value on their own:

Example:  Non, jamais.

                   Rien de tout зa !

                   Non, pas du tout !

- наречиями (почти, никогда, больше, нигде).

Je pensais qu'il n'y avait plus de place !

Благодаря употреблению с ne некоторые из этих
