A - Use

  The conditional is used to express:

· a wish

Example:

  Nous aimerions faire un voyage au Mexique.

  Elles voudraient aller au concert.

· a future action in relation to the past

Example:

  Ils disaient que le projet réussirait.

  La dame croyait que la bonne cuisinerait.

· a hypothesis

Example:

  Le ministre aurait déjeuné avec le président.

· a future possibility

Example:

A ta place, j'irais au théâtre.

Vous pourriez aller passer le week-end sur la côte d'Azur.

· politeness

Example:  Pourriez-vous m'appeler demain ?

· something that depends on a condition

Example:  Je partirais bien en vacances, mais je n'ai pas d'argent. 

B - Formation

The conditional is formed by adding the imperfect tense endings to the future stem for all groups.

Here are examples for third group verbs.

Example: pouvoir

  je pourrais   nous pourrions

  tu pourrais   vous pourriez

  il pourrait   ils pourraient

     tenir

  je tiendrais   nous tiendrions

  tu tiendrais   vous tiendriez

  il tiendrait   ils tiendraient

A - Употребление

Условное наклонение используется для выражения: 

· желания

Примеры:

· будущего действия в прошлом

Примеры:

Ils disaient que le projet réussirait.

· предположения

Пример:

Le ministre déjeunerait avec le président.

· возможности в будущем

Примеры:

A ta place, j'irais au théâtre.

Vous pourriez aller passer le week-end sur la côte d'Azur.

· вежливости

Пример: Pourriez-vous m'appeler demain ?

· чего-либо, зависящего от обстоятельств

Примеры: Je partirais bien en vacances, mais je n'ai pas d'argent.

B - Образование

Условное наклонение глаголов всех групп образуется с помощью присоединения окончания незавершенного прошедшего времени к глагольной основе будущего времени.

Примеры глаголов 3-й группы:

     pouvoir

   je pourrais   nous pourrions

   tu pourrais   vous pourriez

   il pourrait    ils pourraient

      tenir

   je tiendrais   nous tiendrions
