1 Le temps passe, et les garçons sont pressés de préparer le troisième service.
2 L'addition payée, nos voyageurs se séparent,
3 et Paul (1) revient à son compartiment.
4 Mais il n'est plus seul :
5 un jeune homme est installé dans le coin en face du sien (N. 5).
6 Il lit un journal français,
7 et lève les yeux (2) à l'entrée de Paul.
8 Les deux jeunes gens (3) échangent un sourire
9 et Paul s'assied sans mot dire.
10 — Vous allez jusqu'à Paris? demande l'étranger (4).
11 — Oui; et vous aussi?
12 — Moi aussi; nous arriverons dans deux heures, si le train n'a pas de retard.
13 — Jusqu'à présent, il n'en a pas (5).
14 — Touchons du bois! dit l'autre, en souriant.		 1 (The) Time passes, and the waiters are in a hurry (pressed) to prepare the 3rd service.
