Réveil en musique Musical awakening (Awak. in music)
1 Ayant constaté (1) que les enfants dorment toujours,
2 Mme Duval laisse le chocolat sur le fourneau,
3 et passe dans la salle de bains,
4 où elle procède à sa toilette.
5 Il est sept heures et demie;
6 c'est dimanche matin, et tout est tranquille dans la maison.
7 Tout le monde fait la grasse matinée (2).
8 Il pleut à verse (3),
9 et le mieux est de rester au lit.
10 Mais tout à coup une marche militaire éclate,
11 et réveille brusquement les dormeurs.
12 Est-ce un régiment qui passe dans la rue?
13 Non, c'est tout simplement la radio (t.s.f.) (4) des voisins.		 — 1 Having made sure that the children are still (always) sleeping,

— 3 and goes into the bath-room,
— 4 where she proceeds with her toilet.

— 13 No, it is merely (all simply) the neighbour's radio.
